Anna is the Head of Understanding Patient Data (UPD), an initiative that aims to make the way patient data is used more visible, understandable and trustworthy, for patients, the public and health professionals. Understanding Patient Data is hosted by the NHS Confederation and is funded by Wellcome, the Medical Research Council, the National Institute for Health and Care Research, NHS England and the Office for Life Sciences.
Anna has over 20 years’ experience leading communications, engagement, and research for organisations such as the Department of Health and Social Care and NHS England. She has spent the last eight years dedicated to shaping policy and programmes that aim to make better use of data and data-driven technology. These include the Data Saves Lives strategy, the National Data Opt-Out, Shared Care Records, Secure Data Environments, the NHS AI Lab and the Federated Data Platform.
Anna is passionate about ensuring health and care data is used safely, securely, and transparently to improve outcomes and save lives.
