Maria Julia Martins

Maria Julia is an interdisciplinary researcher with a background in International Relations and studies of gender and sexuality. She recently completed a Master’s degree in Media and Communications at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Her research focuses on data governance and the mapping of movements of resistance that challenge the normative ways to build technology. Alongside her academic work, Maria has experience at the intersection of operations, product, and project management, having worked in fast-paced environments and early-stage startups. A generalist by nature, she enjoys diagnosing complex problems and proposing creative pathways for more sustainable futures. Outside of work, she enjoys running and writing.
