Gloucestershire Data Day

Creating place-based community conversations around data

We worked with Create Gloucestershire, Active Gloucestershire and Barnwood Trust to organise a one-day county-based conference exploring how data can work better for local communities.

The event, on 26th April 2023, aims to support practice, creative and critical conversations around data: using a mix of programmed content and open space facilitation to explore collective challenges and opportunities.

We’ll be reflecting on replicable aspects of the event design, and how these might support other place-based data conversations.

The first Gloucestershire Data Day (#GlosDataDay) took place on April 26th 2023, supported by Connected by Data along with Creative Gloucestershire, Active Gloucestershire and Barnwood Trust. It brought together 150 participants representing grassroots community groups, local authorities, artists, data scientists and national government agencies to discuss ways to be inspired, informed and empowered with data.
